about me:

Curently living in Rome, writing a cookbook about authentic Italian cookery art, and eating my way into food history.
favorite foods:
Omnivore! So perhaps it's easier to list the foods I DON'T eat, and they are: tripe - radishes - kidneys
Fried Zucchini Flowers
Theresa, zucchini flowers come attached to the zucchini! Any farmer\'s market that sells the veg will definitely have the flowers too, just aske that they be left on, not discarded.
Zuppetta Fredda
I just made this again this weekend and chilled it in the freezer for 10 minutes before serving sprinkled with croutons and toasted sesame seeds. Yum and fresh!
Lemon-Ginger Almond Scones
Mouthwatering! I read your lovely interview at Food For Thought and I immediately scurried over to see what you had cooked up for us. I have a feeling I\'ll be here often! Ciao Lola xx
Gert's Mama's Pound Cake
Droolworthy! I have to try this lighter version. In exchange I will soon dedicate you my recipe for the Italian equivalent called CIAMBELLONE. It involves the use of many eggs, and it constitutes the staple snack food we kids grew up with. Thank you for sharing, Lola xx
Banana Nut Muffins
I am making these TONIGHT! I absolutely love muffins and banana bread, this is the perfect combination. Will let you know how they come out. Ciao, Eleonora
Curry Roasted Chicken
Wow this sounds divine! I never heard of currying a whole chicken, it\'s a great idea. And the tang offered by the ketchup offers an interesting flavor combo with the Indian spice mix. Will try it soon. Ciao Eleonora
Italian Eggs
I think my cooking fetish started when I saw that scene in Moonstruck. An epiphany! I\'ve made these many times since then, with lovely Italian casareccio (home-style) bread and free range eggs, copying Loretta Castorini\'s recipe. But from now on it\'ll be called Anne\'s Italian Eggs. Ciao, Eleonora
Pollo al mattone
Thank you Theresa! I\'m happy to share the authentic culinary traditions of quick and easy homestyle cooking, because they are such an important part of our culture. This space gives me the perfect opportunity to share them with fellow gourmands and food-lovers!
