Sorry, \"ThomasMorris,\" you are so wrong! lol Sugar is MANDATORY! I grew up HATING ALL CORNBREAD until I found out that some folks like to eat it sweetened in some way! I, personally, add one small can of sweet creamed corn and a little sour cream to mine! Then, I eat it with REAL BUTTER MASHED UP IN HONEY! Redneck and gross-looking -- YES! DELICIOUS -- YES!

This looks like a dish which my teenaged and college aged sons would love! These boys are (sadly for me -- and them!) \"meat and potatoes\" type eaters! As long as they balk at other foods for the most part, I am happy to try anything like this which they would enjoy; as would all of us. It looks great!

I will preface my comments by saying that I am living in the \"Deep South,\" only a few miles from the Gulf of Mexico -- thus, this would make me a \"fresh-only-shrimp-snob!\" If I am going to eat shrimp, it has to be fresh. However, if something is fried, I suppose frozen ANYTHING would suffice to some degree! I would also advise NOT cutting your shrimp down the middle. It causes loss of natural moisture, dries it out, and makes it taste entirely different than if left intact. The only reason to \"butterfly\" a shrimp is to stuff it with crabmeat stuffing or some other sort of thing. Lastly, a hefty hit of Bay Seasoning in your flour makes a large difference in the taste! I applaude the fast and easy idea here; and as said before -- nothing really is BAD WHEN IT IS FRIED! These were just a few \"tips\" you might want to consider! Sadly, due to the oil spill, our shrimp are still considered by most to be ruined or contaminated -- so we will be getting it elsewhere for a long time.

I love this. However, I use Vanilla Yogurt instead of Miracle Whip. Mix it with a half cup sour cream! YUM!

I am going to try this. However, the cooking time says 20 minutes in the recipe -- but on the list you say 5 minutes. Obviously, this was a mistake. Also, I plan to try this with a simple "premade" pie crust rather than with dealing with dough. I hope it works out!? Thanks!

I agree with two of the above comments, at least! I, too, am from the South -- where we do love to use that bacon grease! (haha) Also, I do think that leftover "quality rice" (not instant) makes a really good fried rice recipe. You can use pretty much anything in this; so be brave!

I tried it in the crock pot as well. This seems much easier. Also, I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Very good. Thanks for that suggestion, "TJKROPP855!"
