wokkingmum

Singapore

about me:

I'm a stay at home mum with 2 young children.

I enjoy wokking, among other things. Not that I have a choice. But since I'm at it, I might as well enjoy and have fun!

The eats I cook for my family are nothing fanciful, just some good ole home-cooked food. Either envy or pity my family for what they have for dinner.

So what are we waiting for? Put on your apron, heat up the wok and Let's get Wokking!

Spicy Mayonnaise Prawns

I used two egg yolks instead of a whole egg to achieve a more yellow look for the prawns. Using whole egg is fine. Add more chilli sauce if you prefer it to be more spicy or you can add tomato sauce instead if kids are having it. Personally, adding chilli sauce taste better compared to tomato sauce. I tried that.

Turmeric is a really great ingredient but you probably have never used it in this fashion before. Using a turmeric leaf to wrap your cod fish adds an amazingly unique flavor that you will absolutely love. Strawberry Sorbet

Strawberry Sorbet

star_onstar_onstar_onstar_onstar_on Comments (3)

- If you prefer the sorbet to be firmer (like us), pour the blended sorbet into a flat pan and freeze for about 20 minutes or firm enough to scoop. - You can leave out the lime juice if you do not like it. Just replace with water. But lime juice adds some sweet and sour taste to the sorbet. Might not taste as nice without it. - Do not freeze it. If you do, you will have blend it again. - Best to do this just before serving.

Laksa

Laksa

star_onstar_onstar_onstar_onstar_on Comments (3)

Note: - If you prefer your Laska to be spicy, add chilli paste to your bowl of Laksa. - Chop some Laksa Leaves for garnishing if you like. - For convenience, I used packed coconut. Fresh coconut milk extract will taste and smell better.
